Arms and Necks

Andy Sigler and Will Canine

We wanted to show two joints that can preform diverse movements — spinning, pushing, rotating, etc — so we chose the shoulder and the neck. After messing around with a Kinect, we decided to just use the Cannon 5D for traditional 2D video and a green screen to isolate the joints from the rest of the body and produce .gifs.

Gifs are particularly well suited for depicting movement. The repetition freezes a motion without freezing time and allows otherwise impossible analytical perspective.

These are not meant to display one on a line, need to work on coaxing wordpress into doing it my way. If you look at my tumblr they’re arranged all together better.
