Quantified Self
I’m a big QS’er and have greatly benefitted from tracking different aspects of my health in the past. I use a number of devices including the Fitbit and the Withings body scale, as well as fitness devices like the Polar heart rate monitor in the past.
I would like to combine the energy-efficient data collection of the Fitbit with other data (GPS/cell phone, heart monitor, etc.) to provide useful insight into your day’s activity. I found some similar projects at the QS blog, but nothing comprehensive or particularly useful.
User Interface Evaluation of Physical Exertion
Physical exertion is a factor in the use of computer interfaces. It would be interesting to evaluate different interfaces (keyboard, mouse, touch on tablet, touch on mounted screen, Kinect, etc.) by a set of factors (strain, work, muscle categories used, etc.) to quantify the relative efficiency of these.
An initial search only turns up studies done on whole body, exercise-like interfaces.
